Hey, the fan on my 9400 gt burned off the plastic, the wire is in tact but the fan is hanging on the wires off the graphics card .. i was wondering if i should remove the fan and just plug it back in and play or should i just toss the graphics card out? i never use this computer anymore as i am getting a new gaming pc soon but if this graphics card still works without the fan i can use it until the day comes or is there a way to replace the fan for the graphics card? (cheap way?) thanks

9400's run pretty hot, so running it without a fan probably isn't even an option. People at least claim they can replace fans on GPU's but I don't know how to do it, you could buy an after market cooling setup, but if your replacing the card soon anyway, it'd be a waste of money.

do out your costs and see what you want to do.

a new cheap video card that performs the same or better will cost $x
a new video card cooler may cost $x
or you just get any fan, like a case fan and sort of just get it to stick on there. Maybe use some string or something.

If you have a good power supply you can get a new gpu and just move it over to the new rig when you get it.

You could getto rig the gpu card. Zip tie + case fan
