Simple Question. Need simple answer.

I've done quite a bit of research on which dvd to buy.
My requirements are:
1.Fast dvd rip speed
2.No region protection
It's come down to Pioneer DVD-106S or Lite-On LTD163 16x.
Simply say pioneer or lite-on.

Ltd-163, because the pioneer's audio rip speed is locked at 16x.

well, I don't really care about the audio rip speed, because I most likely won't ever rip an audio cd. Which dvd can rip a dvd (for backup purposes heheheh) and doesn't have a dvd region lock.

that drive has superior dvd rip speed is only $48, and can be made region free at:

it is the best right now, except the sd-m1612 can read dvd-rs and dvd-rws and I don't know if other dvd drives can do that. the toshiba drives have a built in firmware rip speed of 2x though so it sucks.

i do not think either of those are good choices try creativelabs or go to http://www.consumerreports.org/main/home.jsp

aggggg, Creative lab's prod is one products I want to stay away from. Not that it's bad, but it's a personal preference. Liteon LTD 163 does seem really good, I have to get it online and In canada it's a little difficult to get one that in U.S.
