New PC no boot, beep, video responce

I have just finished putting together my custom PC. When I turn the PC on the fans work, the lights display on the motherboard and graphics card so everything looks in order. Also the DVD drive works fine. However there is no single beep and my monitor says that there is no connection. A friend suggested that it may be due to the motherboard and processor bios being different. Any suggestions? I have double checked the connections/wires ect and there seems to be no issues. All the fans are working including the CPU fan.

Try removing the graphics card and running the onboard.

I have run it through the mb rather than the graphics card and the same issues arises.
