"Consumer advocate Ralph Nader announced Sunday he will run again for the presidency, declaring that Washington has become "corporate occupied territory" and arguing there is too little difference between the Democratic and Republican parties."
Just announced on Meet The Press.

Anybody who votes for this commie should be ashamed of themselves. Don't waste your vote!

thats pretty close minded. there shouild be more than 2 parties, that way true democracy can work. I feel that maybe one day people will start realizing not to vote for someone because they are republican/democrat/etc. but will vote for views.

I would love it if there was a viable third party. However the key word in that sentence is viable. I agree with a lot of Nader's views on corporate welfare and such and he has been a terrific consumer advocate. However, he once stated that a person's income should be limited. If you make over X amount that excess would go to the government. That's a very communist idea. Furthermore, if Bush wins because of Nader's entry into the race how is that going to curb corporate welfare? It'll only increase.

I don't think he will get nearly as many votes this election as he did in 2000. Democrats know from last time that voting for him probably means putting a Republican in office. Most of the votes that Nader does get will probably be from people who wouldn't have voted at all if he didn't run.
I'd rather have Nader in the white house than Bush or Kerry. Kerry would be better than Bush, but he still represents the same old politics that has failed this country for so long. The two party system is retarded, and we need change, and as long as you only have those 2 parties running large campaigns, that change will never come. There are more registered independant voters than there are registered democrats or republicans, which says a lot about how our political system is not truly representative of what the voters really want. They have just been settling for who they think is the "lesser of two evils" for all this time, which is a real shame...
If Kerry gets the nomination, I will probably vote for Nader, just because I don't really think Kerry will be a big change from Bush. Kerry sucks up to lobbyists and corporate interest groups just as much, or more so, than everyone else in Washington, so I don't think he's really what he says he is. If Edwards gets the nomination, I would probably vote for him, as I think he would do more than Kerry would to really bring about change. Who knows though, they could all be dirty rotten liars...

Let's hope you're right.

The problem is that the two parties have become completely polarized. Whatever happened to moderates? Christie Whitman is a Republican in favor of a woman's right to choose. The GOP practically shuns people like her and Bush hung her out to dry at the EPA. The major problem with the GOP is that they are in the back pocket of the Christian right and they don't want to let go of that. The bible belt is what got Bush elected and if you want to be a Republican on a national stage you'd best adhere to the Christian yahoos. On the other hand the Democrats have really drifted to the left. As a consequence of the Republicans' shift to the far right? I don't know. It just troubles me that if you're a moderate, whether you're Republican or Democrat, you're alone.
It's funny, when we had a Democrat in the White House and a Republican Congress there was balance. During the Reagan years we had a Democratic majority in Congress. Again, we had balance.
The trouble with Nader is that now is a bad time to run. I applaud his efforts to bring his views into the spotlight but running for President is a bad idea. This country is just not ready for a third party. Perhaps in 2008 the political landscape will be a bit different but as for now the people who love Bush will try to keep him in office and the ones who loathe him will vote for anyone who can beat him. And it's not Nader.
You've tried and failed. The lesson here is, never try again. -- Homer Simpson.
I'd vote for Nader before Kerry.

So far my vote is going into the "None of the above box". If Edwards starts to overtake Kerry then I'll have to examine his record and positions...Having to choose between Kerry and Bush is like having to choose between Oprah and Rosie...there's just no way to win on that one.
If an argument can't be settled in one or two paragraphs, perhaps you're anal and should just let it go...
Remember "Brewsters Millions"? Vote.....None of the above.

I'll do like they did on Third Rock from the Sun, a write-in vote, for Auburn9698.
Or maybe even for Ruben.

Eden, old buddy, ... take your time on this one ... now, "What country do you live in?" (Good) Now, "What country is Ralph Nader running in?" (Good).
Start to see the disconnect yet ...

Try reading Greg Baer's Eon. They got naderites
Good book.
Honestly, I like nader better than bush or any of the democratic hopefuls. BUT I dislike having a single party in control of all three branches of government much more than I dislike the democratic canidates... so I'll vote democrat at election time for the presidency. Being independant and having to choose between the two parties at this point is like asking what's better: shooting yourself in the head with a shotgun or shooting yourself in the head with a .357 magnum. Both hurt, both are terminal, both are poor ways of dealing with issues. Catch 22.

I got the secret decoder ring you so often talk about!
I also got a special X-Ray vision glasses thing!
I even found this weird cane, with a golden statuette on the top, in the park the other day! It seemed to attrack women with short skanky tight skirts, and a small pink jacket. They started offering their special services, which I do not know of, personally.
SO SO! Am I in?
