So recently I've been debating over whether I should get the nvidia gtx 550 ti or the radeon hd 6850 for my graphics card.

My current computer specs are
Processor : AMD Quad-Core FX-4100 processor 3.60GHz, 4MB L2 Cache
Motherboard : AM3+ AMD 760G Chipset
PSU : OCZ 700 watt power supply unit

So yea I was just wondering if these cards would work for the pc. I initially was gonna choose the gtx 550 but I heard about the hd 6850 and how it was better but I'm asking this to make sure will the hd 6850 fit and work in my PC without much bottle necking? And if it does fit, which would you guys recommend?

Thanks!

there is no debate. 6850 will eat gtx550 anyday in any benchmark.the two sit on different performance level. your pc should be able to hanfle 6850 just fine

I wouldn't go lower than the 7850 for 1080p and that is pushing it. The 6850 is getting creaky.

The 6850 is fine for 1080p. Probably the lowest I'd go for that resolution, but still fine. Obviously this guy is on a budget, so adding on another $100 for a much, much better card is probably not an option for him. That being said, of course get the 7850 if you can afford it.
