How do i get rid of word pad

Hello,my c.vs have been took over by word pad and now i cant send c.v to employers as all they can see is word pad, although i have not set it up i need to view my c.v as well as my employers, i have not opened word pad just clicked on word pad and now it has took over HELP ME somebody out there who has knowledge and can relieve my STRESS!
