Hi!

I would like to change the bold item on the right click menu, how do I do
that? For jpg images I want the double click behavior to be "Preview" which
opens the Picture and Fax viewer, and not the "Open" item.

a.. Open Control Panel, Folder Options applet
a.. Click the File Types tab
a.. Scroll down and select the file type from the list.
a.. Click the Restore button at the bottom

Hi, thanks for quick reply.

The jpeg file types does not have the "restore" button, instead there is an
"advanced" button. Opening that there is only one entry; "open", even though
right clicking a jpg file brings up all the alternatives; open, edit, print,
and preview, which I want to be the main entry.

Try this in Start, Run: REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL

Restart Windows. If the "Preview" action is still not the default one, then
try this:

Download FileExtInfo utility from here:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/utils/fileextinfo.zip

Unzip and run it. Select the .JPG from the listbox, and click "View
associations......." option. This utility exports the file association keys
for the corresponding file type. Post the log file here.
