Video/ Graphic card not working

Hello,
My laptop has a geforce 540M graphic card, i noticed it had stopped working when I ran the PC check Up program ( dell software, i own a dell xps lx502 i-5) ... I checked the device management and it recognised it ... to double check, i ran Dxdisp thing and it wasnt displayed there ... Help required ! Thanks in advance !

get the program called GPUz and run that you should see the specs on that. and 2 if you GPU died you wouldn't be able to see windows so it's not dead

Okay thanks, but when I run games on laptop it plays none and the ones that it does hang after a specific time ( for eg when i play fifa it hangs when i reach the home screen ) although it used to before !
