Graphics Card Not Detected Help

I just recently built a new PC, but I can't seem to get the graphics card to work. I put it in the slot, booted my computer with the monitor plugged into the card, and no picture comes up.

My specs:
i5 3570k
ASRock z77 Pro4
Kinston 8 GB RAM
128 GB Crucial M4 SSD
2 TB Seagate HDD
Sapphire Radeon HD 6870

The fan on the 6870 spins and the computer will boot. If I plug the display cord into the integrated graphics port, picture will come up. But nothing seems to be detecting the 6870. I went to the AMD website and I am pretty sure I have the latest drivers. Also, when I try to run the AMD Autodetect program, it says that no hardware is found. Does this mean I have a dead card? Or what?
