I can t download hp laserjet 1022 driver for windows 7 64 bit

I have a new laptop with windows7 64 bit OS. I have a HP Laserjet 1022. I can't download the driver from HP website. Any ideas?

I have tried this several times and after I connect the USB cable I get this message "Waiting for User to Connect Device" Do you have any other ideas?

Are you sure that USB is turned on in bios for the motherboard? Are you sure the cable you are using is good? Is the power on for the printer?

The USB recognizes a flash drive. I am currently using the printer and have tried another set of cables, and yes, the power was on. I think I will delete the driver and try to reinstall. This should be so easy! Thanks for you help.
