I have been planning on putting together a mid price range htpc for playing network stored media and internet streaming over a wired connection, with ability to upgrade in the future. Here is the list I have put together at PC Part Picker. This will be my first project, so I am flying sort of blind at this point. I would also think that I need a couple of quite fans and I found this on which looks sufficient. SilenX EFX-08-13 80mm Case Fan. For the remote, I already have a Harmony, so I was going to buy a Windows Media Center Remote that has the usb connected receiver.

Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: 2-3 weeks)

Budget Range: $500 +/-

System Usage from Most to Least Important: HTPC

Are you buying a monitor: No

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/jv8i

CPU: AMD A8-3870K 3.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($109.98 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: ASRock A75M-HVS Micro ATX FM1 Motherboard ($64.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: Kingston HyperX Grey 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($41.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Crucial M4 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($105.74 @ B&H)

Power Supply: Antec EarthWatts Green 380W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($40.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $416.81

Thanks.

Thanks.

Updated the parts list after looking at some information on the new Trinity chips, which do not seem to add any to the cost.
