Hi, I'm currently trying to get a build together for gaming

Approximate Purchase Date: This week

Budget Range: Under 600

System Usage from Most to Least Important: (Gaming, Internet surfing)

Parts Not Required: GPU, Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor, RAM*

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Found most of my parts on Newegg

Country: USA

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: In the future

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: I currently have a xfx radeon 7770 GPU. Also, the Zalman Z11 case has 5 fans built in. I was wondering if the PSU would be able to support it or have enough 4 pins to support the fans.
* I have a 2x3gb ram from an older computer. Not sure about the speeds but would i be able to use it in this build?

I currently have:

600w is a bit overkill. You'd be fine with 500w. Also, I'd get the 3570K and ASRock Extreme 4 Z77 from Microcenter. The 3570K is $190, and you'll get $50 off the mobo from Microcenter, so you'll save some money compared to getting your mobo from Newegg and a 2500K.

according to microcenter the price is 135$ and on newegg i get a 15% discount on the mobo. Also, I've read that the 2500k runs cooler and has better overclocking and is 500w enough to crosffire a 7770?

Yes, it's $135 at Newegg, but when you get it at Microcenter with the i5 3570K, they take $50 off, so it drops down to $85. I really hate the FUD surrounding the 2500K and 3570K. Yes, the 2500K can overclock to a higher clockspeed, but since the 3570K has architectural improvements, a 3570K at 4.5GHz will be equal to a 2500K at 4.GHz. So, if you're looking at raw clocks, the 2500K wins, but a 3570K at a lower speed will be equal to a 2500K at a higher speed. The 3570K only gets hot once you start adding lots of voltage. But a decent cooler will make it cool.

If you want to Crossfire a 7770, get a 650w. But, a better solution would be to sell the 7770 for $100 and get a 7850/7870 for $200 which will be better than a 7770 crossfire.

oh thanks for the info ill take your word and go with the 3570k then.
What about fans for the case? I'm probably going to keep the same psu since its only 38$ and I probably wont crossfire anytime soon. So with that psu and mobo will I be able to run all 5 fans?

For $38, stick with it. 5 fans will use a negligible amount of power. I have the Extreme 4, and it only has 4 fan headers, so you'll have to connect one of the fans to another fan or connect it directly to the PSU.
