Hello!

Friend is an engineer, requested a workstation for AutoCAD 2013 as the title implies. According to him, cost is not an issue as it's a business expense.

Told me to go all out with specs, so I turn to you all.

I am completely unfamiliar with professional GPUs and anything beyond an i5 or gaming hardware.

Please advise!

Currently have no hardware selected; will be using Windows 7 x64, that's the only preference.

well, something like this would do

i could go further by using a dual xeon setup but it could cost around 10K.

also take note that there will be new quadro cards (the k series) coming out in decemeber that will be a great ton faster

Beautiful, but I feel like you're holding back. lol

Please, by all means go further. As I said in the initial post, cost is not an issue.
