Zotac AMP2! GTX 680 4GB release date?

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about Zotac AMP2! GTX 680 4GB release date and is it going to be released at all? I remember nVidia 500 series when Zotac released AMP2! GTX 580 with 3GB DDR5.

Almost all manufacturers have released 4GB non-reference cards with nice coolers, overclocked... only ZOTAC is waiting with 4GB version in non-reference design.

Beside EVGA I am very big fan of ZOTAC and I would buy either EVGA GTX 680 FTW+ 4GB or Zotac AMP2! GTX 680 4GB (if it is going to be released at all)?

I would appreciate any kind of information...

Best regards!

Haven't heard anything, but the 4GB Kepler cards are completely pointless... the 256-bit memory bus width is what holds them back at high resolution, not the actual vram amount.

Techpowerup just reviewed a 4GB GTX 680 and basically found that the 4GB is pointless:

Just save your money and get a 2GB GTX 680.

Interesting review... but I intended to buy one 680 now and add one more in a year or so in order to make my rig last as long as possible. Thats why I am aiming for 4GB 680 at the moment.

I have Maximus V Extreme motherboard, i7 3770K CPU, Enermax Platimax 1000W PSU and 16GB of Corsair Dominator GT @ 2133MHz already... only missing GPU. But I think that I will wait a bit more for this ZOTAC AMP2! 4GB (not listed on their page, but it should be soon I think), or I will end up with EVGA.

Already spent so much money on this rig and I intend to use it for the next 2 or 3 years... thats why I want 4GB.
