Hi guys, I'm a graphics designer, and recently acquired a new desk which will allow me to place two monitors on it, and will be making my life much easier... Once I get it set up. Currently i'm using a VGA Monitor that i've had for years, it runs 1680x1050 and is some iiyama prolite something or other. I have that connected using the DVI-I slot using a VGA adapter, now before I went out to buy a monitor and the relevant cables etc. I would be needing, Would it be simple enough to just go out and buy a 1080p HD monitor and connect it via HDMI and run it simultaneously with my current VGA monitor, or do they have to be the same model and resolution? I'm still a student so really can't afford to go out and buy two brand new monitors. If someone knows if this configuration will work, it will help me out a lot, thanks.

Thanks, I was wondering because I was reading the sticky at the top, and it basically said that it was a definite nono.

I don't see why it would be. Most if not all 6850's have dual monitor support. My MSI R6850 does, but I have no need for dual monitors.
