I had a custom build made for my by Computer Planet, received it on Friday. I installed Windows 7, all went fine, then installed the graphics driver. On being prompted to reboot, rebooted. After the Windows loading screen, I got a black screen with static lines across it, then a plain blue screen (the same colour as Windows 7's default background). After a few more attempts, reinstalled Windows 7 and tried again, exact same issue. I couldn't get into Safe Mode, the static lines would pop up during loading, regardless of anything. Clutching at straws, I tried using my old graphics card from my old rig, still had the exact same problems. I also switched to a different monitor so I could use my old computer to go hunting for solutions. Spoke to someone who knows far more than me about fixing computers, and he suggested trying again, with a fresh install, this time Windows 8 (for comparison). Installed Windows 8, but this time, I never got into Windows. The static screen popped up after the reboot during installation. Tried again, same thing. I actually filmed what it was doing for my friend, but he has no idea what I can try other than going back to Windows 7 and trying that again.
I have contacted Computer Planet, but they're only open Monday-Friday, so I thought I'd post here and see if anyone has any ideas. My initial thought after a very long night trying to get it working on Friday was "Motherboard/CPU is faulty". This could be completely wrong, but process of elimination does sort of point fingers at faulty parts.
