MS DOS compatibility mode!

Help! I have just bought & installed a new Maxtor DiamondMax 60 40gb 7200RPM UDMA 100 hard disk (albeit working as a UDMA66 drive due to my motherboard, an Aopen AK33). The problem is that my old Seagate 8.4Gb UDMA66 is connected as slave but both drives then operate in MS Dos compatibility mode. If I unplug the Seagate, then the Maxtor works fine. Any ideas?
On the other channel I have a Hewlett Packard CDRW and an old 2Gb Seagate UDMA33 drive, but they work fine together.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I've got Windows ME (getting XP when it comes out though, maybe that will fix it)

Same thing applies for Me (it's really an updated version of 95!). Tell me what happens when u search for "noide", if that doesn't come up with anything try "no ide".

U got a problem?! Then dial 1800-328-7448!
