Hi, i was wondering would i be able to play bf3 on my pc.

My specs:
i3-2120 running @ 3.3ghz
4gb of 1600mhz ram
Asus hd 6450 1gb ddr3

If their is anything missing from the specs would you let me know.

I would probably run the game on the lowest settings and lowest resolution.
I would like to get around 25-30fps.

Your graphics card is below minimum system requirements. You might be able to launch the game, but it will not be pretty or smooth. 15-20 fps at best.

found this on youtube doesn't look to bad = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgtdsAV5yPI

although it is above the Minimum requirements for Battlefield 3, its well below the Recommended system requirements.

•Graphics card: DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 or ATI Radeon 6950.

From my experience, I would say the bare minimum would be a HD6670 GDDR5

HD7770 recommended for budget cards
HD7850 if you want something balanced.
GTX690 if you can spend a lot of money :p

Sorry I have to ask, why would anyone want to play BF3 at the lowest settings and lowest resolution, its a very good lookin game. Be a shame to waste it on crappy resolutions and settings.

You can get a low profile 7750 now. Its made by Sapphire and is available on NewEgg for about $105. Why not just buy a new case and PSU for larger cards.

Get the HD7750 then.
if you do, get Sapphire, they've been with AMD/ATI longest and rarely has a bad card

Two 6450 1GB DDR3's in crossfire can barely run Left 4 Dead 2 on medium settings at 1280 x 720. I can assure you that just one of these is incapable of playing bf3.

Then what do you recommend for a 220 watt power supply?

A 7750 is the only card I think that can meet the power requirements while still being playable.

Lol don't listen to these dudes, I've been playing on a Dual core and NVIDIA 8800 GT ( LOWEST POSSIBLE GPU REC FOR BF3) and been playing fine (minimum of 35 fps, I had 55-60 stable for hrs) on minimum settings and spotting like a 1 man army for the whole team on maps like project fire storm. I'm upgrading to a GEFORCE 670 for a huge performance increase but I'm telling you, all you need is skill, don't need any fancy sh$t to run games.

So you think that the hd 6450 will run the game at descent frame rates? Go for the gtx 660 ti i hear its like 100 euro cheaper and its just as powerful.

There's one issue: 8800 GT is much more powerful than HD 6450.

HD 6750 is much more powerful, around 3.4 times. But it will not work on your power supply unit.

I noticed that I had a 6450 DDR3 1GB laying around at work. So I installed it into my work computer and downloaded BF3. I overclocked the card as high as CCC would let me and launched the game. I recorded a quick run through with Fraps and uploaded it to youtube.

Then I installed a 6670 DDR3 1GB I had laying around and also uploaded it to youtube.

The comparison between the graphics settings and smoothness should be more than enough to let you know what to expect between the 6450 and a card that is just a few steps up.

The 6450 I took down to 1024 x 768 and even then, it was only getting about 15 - 20 FPS on low.

The 6670 ran playably at 1440 x 900 on medium settings, but just barely, averaging 25 FPS. 1280 x 720 on high was also borderline playable maintaining about 25 FPS.

yea I guess my 8800 GT was a bit stronger. If you're really planning on playing fps, then even the 8800 GT is out of the question. you should look into the new nvidia 660 that starts at about 300 bucks, that will get you to play bf3 and future titles for a while

You should be able to run it and also get around 35 to 30 fps. Your graphics cardis strong enough and your cpu is near the minimum and its should be easily playable and definitly woth it. Just throw some ram in and make it 8gb and you should maybe see an increase of around 30fps

What would be better, a hd 6450 with additional 4gb of ram or a hd 6570 with the same 4gb stock?

HD 6570 is much faster than HD 6450. Though I have no idea what you're trying to ask about RAM.
