Okay, im in between buying cards and a new 660ti just came out.

Im a huge amd fan and ive always liked AMD and the RED style of it. (also building a corsair 600t case with red led's and stuff)

So, on my retail store (www.arvutikeskus.ee) theres an overclocked sapphire 7970 3gb for 400 euros and an msi PE 660ti for 333 euros.

I prefer:
Max performance per euros
Eyefinity in the future (currently i have 1080p monitor and a 1280x1024 monitor - future i will be atleast 2 1080p monitors)
I dont care about 3D

What is physx btw ? What am i losing by not going to nvidia ?

So what would be the best ? I mean 400 euros isnt that much over 333, so which one should i get ? I would really like to have that full AMD system specs, but 660ti sounds and looks so appealing aswell.

What are your suggestions ?

if your goal is eyefinity, the logical choice would be hd7970. The gtx660ti might do okay on a single 1920x1080 monitor but I doubt that gpu would have enough juice to run tripple. The hd7900 series is reported better for multimonitor setups.

so, the 7970 supports 2 1080p monitors better, it performs about 11% better and as i read earlier, it also overclocks good ?

the only thing im gonna miss, is the physxs thing and amazing 3Dvision (which i dont care about at all).

seems like im going with the 7970 and my cool AMD red/white look :p

Thanks! :)

if it is a 660ti vs 7970, its a no brainer to get a 7970

the msi 670 PE is 20 euros more expensive than the 7970.
is it worth it ?

which 7970 are you looking at? if it is a reference, get the power edition. if not, what is it?

i love overclocking and messing with my pc overall.
ive oc 'd my fx-8120 to 4.0ghz with a really bad case airflow and cant wait to get my new corsair 600t and badass 200mm fans.

anyways, are graphics cards harder to overclock than cpus ? is there a special trick for it ? or just bios settings like the cpu.

btw, a corsair gs600 can hold that card overclocked + fx-8120 overclocked, right ?
