First of all, I apologize if I misuse a term or misrepresent an idea ahead of time.
On to the point, then.
I recently had to RMA a motherboard that suddenly wouldn't boot after a month of use. They sent me a brand new motherboard to replace my old one and everything booted fine, but Adobe Flash and Adobe Air would not work, and I would randomly get lines down my screen when loading pictures or web pages like this: http://i.minus.com/jsGfcYAfyjLnT.png
When I disable hyperthreading through BIOS or limit my cores through msconfig to 4 or less (no higher) everything works perfectly fine.
Was my ability to use hyperthreading damaged when my motherboard shorted? (is that even possible?)
What will hyperthreading effect for me? (I like gaming and streaming with high compression rates (big CPU load))
