I would like to upgrade to faster memory by replacing my 128 P700 to 256 P800. Presently, I have one slot filled by the memory and the other has a terminator clip in it. Can I still use one slot for memory or do I need to fill both with the same memory type in order or it to work? Ref= Dell Dimension XPS B533r.

Most likely the PC800 will be clocked down to 700 since RDRAM is in series. Buying another stick at 800 would get all of it at 800 but you might be better off buing a new Motherboard and DDR. (Depends on if you bought the PC800 stick already.)
