Cpu temperature

Hi,

May i know what is the cause to make my cpu temperature keep rising? Cpu and psu fan working properly and my cpu temperature keep rising when i check in the bios. Once open the computer then the temperature keep rising from 30 celsius to 80+ and shut down itself. I've just formatted the pc from windows xp to 7. I tried changing psu but the temparature still keep rising. Gigabyte p55-ud3l mobo and i3-530 proc.

either your heat sink is loose and not contacting the cpu properly or your thermal pase has worn out (unlikely but possible). Check the heat sink legs, chances are one of them has com off.

Took out the heat sink and installed back but still same. Cpu temperature 40 when start computer and rise till 80+ celsius within a minute time.

did you reapply fresh thermal compound and its amount limited to the size of a small pea?
