Ok I have 3 cards that I got for free. I have 2 systems that I want to put them in.

The issue is i want o put the best card(s) in the better of the 2 systems.

The 6800gt will be SLI and are pci-e/ddr3 also

The 550 ti is running 900/1025 right now nd you know it is ddr5

What one will be better for RTS and games like Diablo 3?

I can max out everything on EON and Ghost Recon Future warrior on the 550 ti....I have not tried the 6800's yet.

More about : 550 6800 sli

A 6800GT from like 2003? Like first generation PCI-E ? If so then a 550 Ti even though it's not really a great gaming card should be several times faster than even 2 of those old things.

No problem at all. Here is a great chart Tom's does every month with the relative strength of pretty much every card ever released if you ever need to compare 2 cards again.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-car...

Newer cards in Sli or Crossfire almost double their performance. Older cards like the 6800GT give you more like 40-50% of what a single card would.

I had a 6800GS and it was a great card in it's time.
