Gigabyte 560 ti 448 Discontinued

I am noob to computer gaming and I did my first build 6 months ago. Long story short I got a Gigabyte 560 ti 448 and planned on getting another one eventually to SLI. The day the 660 ti came out I thought my card would go cheap, but instead it is discontinued. Is this the norm for non-reference cards? Is there anywhere to buy discontinued cards?

to begin with that GTX 560 Ti Core 448 was made in limited quantity just to flush out any remaining GF110 chip that couldn't make it into GTX570. i don't know were you come from but newegg still sell the card:

Oh, I didn't realize you could use different brands in SLI with non-reference cards. Like I said, total noob to computer gaming/building. Thanks for the reply!
