Computer will not post

So I am currently having an issue with a computer of mine, It will not post, no beep, no video, all fans are running and the gpu fan seems to be running at 100%. I have two identical computers that I built so I was able to test components on a known working computer. I took the cpu, ram and gpu out of the computer that would no post and put them into the known working computer and they all worked. I then tested the psu manually with a fluke 89 multimeter and all rails have the proper voltage. Since all of the components tested good I assumed that the motherboard is bad. I wanted to upgrade anyway so I picked up a new motherboard, cpu and ram, installed them and I am still having the same issue. I am out of ideas and the only thing i can think of at this moment is a doa motherboard.

  1. thanks for the reply but that did not help
  2. Is the board several years old? If so, it may have a dead CMOS battery.
  3. What is the model of your board?
  4. I just put a brand new motherboard (gigabyte 990fxa-ud3) in it to replace the bad one. Anyway I did some more testing today and found out that my new board was doa, problem solved.
