Hello, I have an Asus A7V mobo and wondered if anyone can tell me the max processor this can support. All the documentation says things like 1000Mhz+, which isn't very helpfull. Could I run a 266 FSB XP+ or a 266 K7 ? Will they run under clocked ? If so is there any point upgrading ? I can remember something about multiplier limits from when I was setting up 18 mths ago....is this the limiting factor ? Any help appreciated.

Asus A7V only supports FSB 100MHz (or DDR200), so you cannot upgrade to Athlon XP which runs at 133MHz FSB. If I remember correctly, it can run up to Tbird 1.4G FSB100 (multiplier 14) with latest BIOS version.
IMHO, you should upgrade your mobo so you can use Athlon XP or later chips.

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.

yeah, the a7v is limited to 100FSB and 100FSB processors, thus the max your looking at is the 1.3Ghz Duron or the Athlon 1400B.
