I have been concerned about this issue for a while and decided to post here in hope that someone can tell me what can be done and what my options are.

I get a constant frame drop in most games like

-TERA
-Smite
-Minecraft (Whitest recording with fraps)
And a few others.

My average fps is around 80. I like to play games at the max settings to get the best out of the game. But since I got this new custom build PC from pcspecialist in December I have been having problems. Here are my specs.

Processor: (CPU) AMD A10-5800K Quad Core APU (3.8GHz) & Radeon™ HD 7660D Graphics

Motherboard ASUS® F2A55-M LE:

Memory (RAM) 8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz

Graphics Card 2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 650 Ti

Memory - 1st Hard Disk 1TB

Power Supply 450W Quiet 80 PLUS Dual Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan

Performance CPU Cooler: Corsair H40 Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler

If you can let me know what may be wrong or if you have a suggestion I would really appreciate it!

Thankyou :)

P.S I have been told my CPU is not that great, I am willing to buy a new CPU and motherboard if it comes to it.

The CPU you have isn't horrible with games, but there are better alternatives. That graphics card is low mid range. I am not familiar with the games you are playing, but most games make more use of GPU than CPU. That 650 Ti is probably holding you back more than the CPU is. Sadly, a better GPU will require a better power supply as well. These two articles might help you out a bit as well.

However, For the games I'm playing I should be able to run them fine according to the recommended system hardware
