Is my CPU Dead

Hello,
I have an AMD FX 8150, and I forgot putting on new Thermal Paste after cleaning the computer, and now it gets 100ºC after i start it up, I managed to get in the BIOS but after a little time it shuts it self down because it's to warm, Is it dead?

Hi there,

Have you taken the heatsink off and applied fresh Thermal Paste? Its probably overheating and shutting down to avoid permanent damage to the CPU.

can you please remove the heatsink then apply thermal paste.

without it, best case scenario it will shutdown

worst, it will kill cpu

No it won't be dead, all modern CPU have rigid thermal protection to shut down in case of overheating. If it is dead, return it under warranty and get a new one.

Just reapply thermal paste.
