Hey guys,

built a computer a year ago, over clocked it and everything was running great, then it recently froze and wont boot again. all fans spin up, dvd drive spins up and hdd spins up, and all the lights com on, the cpu light on the mother board lights up at startup then turns off, but the screen shows nothing and none of the usb ports work.

did a cmos reset and still didnt boot

i tried ram that i know works and nothing happened,

i tried another gpu that i know works, and still nothing,

i told asus and sent the mother board to them, after i got the mother board back still nothing,

now i cant tell what the problem is...

My system,
motherboard-asus crosshair v formula
cpu-amd fx 8120
gpu-amd readon hd 7770 ghz
psu-ocz 750w
ram- gskill sniper 1866 mhz 4gb x 4

this is driving me crazy, can somone please help

i have had it where a partitioned hard drive causes this problem. can you boot into the "select boot device" screen? if so, stick in a windows disc and try to run a repair.

let me know how you get on!

sent in a rma report to amd after getting a psu tester from newegg and it showed the psu was fine, sent it in and havent gotten it back yet, crossing my fingers that the system works when i get the cpu back, and i think the problem was that i set the cpu-nb voltage to auto, asus recommends that, but i looked it up and people have been getting crazy high voltages with it set that way
