The GT630 is not a very good choice and frankly neither is the GT440 unless it is the GDDR5.

Can you give us some information on the power supply? It's important to know the amperage on the 12V rail of the power supply when upgrading a graphics card.

what dell optiplex gx620 do you have the tower, mid tower, small form ,or the ultra small form
If you have the full tower read below. If not your chances are 0 because 3 other forms have a 25W PCI-E 2.0 (the full tower has a 75W PCI-E 2.0)
Anyway be careful with the amperage.I don't know for the 440GT but the 630GT Recommend a 22 Ampers on 12V rail PSU
Check your PSU
It should be writen :: +12/22A or +12---22A or something like that
GOOD LUCK

Personally, I wouldn't use a 280W PSU on any computer. It isn't even worth considering.

HD 7750 or HD 6670. These have reported on 250-300 watt power supplies.

There have been reports of some 2.1 cards having issues with 1.x motherboards. Since you have a 2.0 motherboard, this doesn't apply. You can even put in a 3.0 card like the HD 7750 in your motherboard....these cards/mobos are typically backwards compatible.
