Budget: Under $500 USD
Sites: newegg, amazon, etc
Parts not required: monitor, mouse, keyboard, OS
Build date: ASAP
No preference on brand. Just want a quiet, small, and enviornmentally friendly computer.
Use: email, internet browsing, music, HD video watching

Thought of a fun idea that I would like to do. The goal is to have it super quiet and super energy friendly. I would like it in a small form factor, but I would still like some of the latest hardware if possible. Preferably a black case that is super quiet.

Looking forward to hear some advice! Thanks

the total is $479.
The psu is so expensive because you wanted enviro friendly. It is 95% efficient, which is far better than the average psu, which is arounf 70-80%. This will save a decent amount on your energy bill also. You really only need a 250w psu, but 400w is the weakest they make with that high efficiency. Also if you ever want, that cpu's integrated graphics are pretty well.
Edit
I looked at the other person's build you might want

A cpu like this one or the one he suggested will probably be better for the enviroment than the trinity one.

Yeah I forgot about that. Also I know that your's is better, but it also is slower and has been discontinued on newegg. Also a platinum psu is pretty important if you want an eviramentally friendly build, 15% more efficiency means 15% less wasted energy.

Actually it is a little of both. I recently have changed my outlook on life and I am trying to reduce my footprint as much as possible. Sorry to go off topic but it is called minimalism and it is something that has really caught my interest.

Anyways, this would be my primary rig which is fine since I won't be doing anything at all on it that would be heavy or that would really stress it.

Thanks!

That's cool. I've never much got into stuff like that because I feel like me, as a single person cannot really do much of anything to help that said cause. And that I'm just too lazy :kaola:
