Everplay standard to preserve digital images and movies

Fuji, Konica Minolta and Eastman Kodak today released the final specification of "Everplay," a set of rules that promises users to ensure compatibility of today's digital pictures and movies with future storage media. Formerly known as "picture archiving and sharing standard (PASS)," the group hopes that Everplay makes its way into media post-production and eventually into digital cameras and playback devices thereafter. A friend has suffered some kind of file deletion in her Konica Minolta
DiMage Z10.

Is there any software available to the end user for retrieval of loss
data on the memory chip module?

Be it Minolta or SONY or whatever: in general, is there recovery
software available ?

Yes there is. Sandisk Rescue Pro is one of the names i can remember.There are a couple others but can't think of the names right now.

Photorecovery from lctech.com is another. Got a free version with a photo program years ago, may have been Corel Photo Album. It works well the few times I've had to use it. He'll need a card reader to use it
