iomega zip 250 bad?

i just bought a 250mg zip drive and when i put it in windows (2k pro) wont start up, it stops half way and stays there. the bios detects it and everything but it just wont start up. then if i take it out everything is fine. what the hell is going on?

Try a safe mode boot. Can you view the device manager and tell us the ticked & not ticked options on this drive?
