memory bus. That is memory road is narrower in case of 660 192 bits while it is 256 is case of 670. Imagine a road . In case of 670 it is 256 meters wide while with 660 it is 192 meters wide

so can this make that different in gaming and etc. i am now starting to like 660ti. but can it still max out games like crysis 2, metro 2033 bf3 without any problem. i will buy a one between this. what d u recommend will this be able to impress all gamers. i want a perfect GPU within 400$ which will give me an excellent satisfaction. i dont want to face any prob.

Let's see, the 660 Ti is a great performer and OCer, but it can't OC to the point that it performs like the 680 or even perform like a 670, like some benchmarks say. That's due to its 192 bit mem bus and less ROPs. The 670 would be a better option, it is worth the 100 buck more. If you grab a good aftermarket edition, like the Gigabyte Windforce or the Asus DirectCU II TOP, you can outpace a 680 easily. If you have 400 bucks to spend on a 670, do it. But if you are on a budget, 660 Ti it is.

I don't think the 192 bit bus will be much of a problem as long as your gaming on single monitor at 1080 resolution. once you get into triple monitor setups or 2560x1600 res is the only time you will notice a huge difference from the 192 bit bus. As said above you will not get the OC you can get out of a 670 but if your only looking to spend 300$ and max current games out running 1080 then 660 ti is perfectly fine.

i would say u better buy a amd 7950 . It makes more sense i u compare their prices. I also waited for 660. But m now disappointed. Expected the performance of this card to reach 7970, but "sigh".

envy14 u can also get a 7950 for around $320. this card 660 cant even compete well with 7870 with AA on at high resolution l. if u call future proof, then 7950 makes a better sense. Overclocked 660 reaches or beats the performance of a 7950, but u can also overclock 7950 which reaches the performance of 680 or better. Moreover 7950 is a high resolution card.

A great overclocking review on the Galaxy GTX 660 Ti GC 3GB card today at HardOCP:

"Our overclocking across the board gave the GALAXY GTX 660 Ti GC 3GB video card a positive gameplay experience improvement. With the GPU and memory clock speed both overclocked we achieved performance that was faster than a stock GeForce GTX 670. Therefore, GTX 670 performance can be achieved, you just have to overclock both the GPU and the memory as much as possible. We were surprised to see up to 10% increase in performance over the GTX 670. In all instances the overclocked GALAXY GTX 660 Ti GC 3GB video card blew the stock Radeon HD 7950 out of the water. Overclocking the 660 Ti GPU was a positive experience. We found ourselves easily able to play every game in our lineup at 2560x1600 when the card was overclocked."

I bought the MSI 660 Ti for $315. The cheapest I could find a 7950 (in Taiwan) was $365. (not including Sapphire)
According to Battlefield 3 benches (which is why I need a GPU) the 660Ti outperforms. Enough said!

Yes evny. I saw that somewhere. cant remember where. Anyway , now amd wont decrease the price of 7950. Some of these games prefer the nvidia or some the amd. Only two game where i watch for performance is metro and crysis 2. It wont make any sense u compare the cards using only BF3 (nvidia) or Dirty (amd). Nor it is fair with Skyrim, which is more cpu intensive.

ajaxmaru, I hear yah. I selected my card because of BF3 benchmarks, and I could care less about metro2033 (played it and got bored, not my style) but Skyrim is cool.

According to techpower : @1920x1200 660ti outperforms 7950 in BF3 and Crysis 2. However, 7950 outperforms at metro2033 (but tweaktown has the difference as nothing, and guru3d gives edge to 7950)

I'm sure Galaxy cards are fine, but you do know that Galaxy pays for hardocp.com , right?
Tell me, which company, has an ad at the top of their website? Don't believe me, then go to their website and click
on "GPU- Video Cards" tab. Thought so.
And why don't they test popular cards, that people actually buy? Cuz they are paid by Galaxy.

Ooo, conspiracy theories alleging bias towards a particular brand.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Did hardocp test any brands besides the Galaxy, for 660Ti?

Also, what advertisement do you see at the top of the GPU-Video Cards page?

Thank you. I rest my case!

Your math doesn't add up and it doesn't explain the many reviews of Gigabyte, MSI, Asus, etc. to name a few on HardOCP. Right now, I'm seeing an ad for MSI on this Tom's Hardware page. Does your conspiracy also apply to any site that accepts advertisements and then reviews those products, or have you just singled out HardOCP?
