Belkin Wireless Adapter Problem

Hi,

I have a question about my Desktop and the Belkin Wireless adapter that I am using for it. There seems to be a problem with my internet connection and I can't figure it out! I'm suppose to have speeds up to 18mbps and I'm only getting up to 5mbps on my Desktop. Now, here's the weird part...when I connect to my wifi on my laptop and cell phone it gets 16mbps...So I was hoping that you guys could help me figure out why this is only happening to my Desktop??? I have the latest wireless adapter driver installed and everything. Is it the adapter or my system?? Help me!

never mind. i figured out the problem. i had the wireless adapter (USB) connected to an old usb port (1.x) instead of a 2.0....
