Personally, i think norton antivirus is horrible, over-priced, slow, anything that threatens its existence on your computer it flags as a high level threat and/or a virus.

AVG free ftw.

Yup I've seen NIS crap out systems and sometimes the firewall doesn't work correctly...

I would skip NIS and get Microsoft Security Essentials + AVG or antivir. Both are free.

I'll second the notion that Norton blows. I use Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Firewall/Defender. I've never had a problem and I've been using MSE since it was released. Some people aren't fans of MSE just because it is a Microsoft product, but I really like it. I've also used AVG, antivir and avast in the past and they all worked well for me. I think avast was the first 64bit av program I used and it worked great for me on XP x64.

Microsoft Security Essentials + Windows Firewall/Defender for me.

wow ? have you even tried Norton 2012? because it sounds like your talking about Norton in 2008! alot people still hating on Norton Obviously, Norton in 2008 was terrible!! but Now its one of the best suites on the market! as for slowdown? Are you joking me? go check AV Corps test norton is up there in the top 3.
