Last response: in CPUs

Hi, im deciding on building a computer, but dont know if i should get the intel i5 3570 or the AMD Vishera 8320. im not really a gamer, but i mainly use my computer for regular everyday use. I usually have a lot of applications open, im not sure if that has to do with anything, but i have a lot of things open at once. Is there a big speed difference between the 2 processors? Any help would be appreciated! :D

More about : processor

The i5 will give you slightly faster performance, but is quite allot more expensive, so in your situation I would get the AMD. However if all you are using your computer for is everday stuff do you really need an 8 core processor, have you considered something like an athlon x4?

What about if I'm trying to stay at a 500 dollar build? I also want a 16 gb ram with it. Which of the 2 processors should I pick? Also what 16gb ram should I get?

If your not going to game/render videos and such, 16Gb really is not needed. 8Gb ram is more than enough!

I have got a gaming PC and have recently built another desktop to use for everythying else to make sure i don't overuse my gaming rig. In my other pc ive got an athlon x4 and 8gb kingston value ram, with a radeon 6450. It runs pretty fast without any lag, is capable of light gaming and cost very little (around £300 including the 2tb HDD). To be honest I think something like that would do you.
