3rd Gen cpu with 2nd gen bios

hey okay i just got finished building my pc to find out that it wont show a display it powers on and everything just fine my motherboard is a Gigabyte P67X-UD3-B3 my cpu is Intel i5 3570k ivy bridge so heres the question my bios on the motherboard is 2nd gen i need to flash and the cpu is 3rd gen would that cause nothing to show on my display or could their possibly be somthing wrong with my Graphics Card?

maybe i forgot to mention that my motherboard doesnt have a built in video output so i must have my graphics card installed... thinkin maybe since gigabyte does offer updates on bios and warranty's and such my motherboard and my graphics card are both from gigabyte maybe i should just send them both in to get updated and made sure they work
