Please take a look and leave input on my first pc build Tags: New Build Systems Last response: October 12, 2012 2:24 AM in Systems Share deadturtl3 October 12, 2012 2:10:52 AM Here's what I've got so far: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/k2li Approximate Purchase Date: around Christmas Budget Range: $800-$975 after shipping and rebates System Usage from Most to Least: Gaming, surfing the web, schoolwork Are you buying a monitor: No Do you need to buy OS: Yes Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg, amazon Location: Easton, Pennsylvania Parts Preferences: I want the nzxt phantom case, want a intel CPU Overclocking: No SLI or Crossfire: No Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 Additional Comments: I want to keep the nzxt phantom window, would like to play games like arma 2 smoothly More about : leave input build | E-mail me updates | Report abuse Register or log in to remove Someone Somewhere October 12, 2012 2:20:14 AM A couple of suggestions: Get low profile ram eg http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f31600c9d8ga... Get a 7950 for about the same price which outperforms the 660Ti eg http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-100352... It's actually cheaper. I assume the Network Adaptor is WiFi not an ethernet card? There is no point in a separate ethernet card is onboard ones are fine. You can get a cheaper PSU such as this OCZ one: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/ocz-power-supply-ocz600mxs... EDIT:Fixed link | Report abuse zared619 October 12, 2012 2:24:08 AM You picked some pretty good components, but I think there is some areas for improvement. It's just a tad over-budget, but the 7970 is worth it.
