9600 GT vs GT 630

Which is better:

MSI 1 GB DDR3 9600 GT

Or

Inno 3D 1 GB DDR3 GT 630

They are around equal, though I wouldn't suggest buying either.

It is not clear-cut

gt630 is re-badged gt440. not a great card.

The 9600gt is quite old now, but will outperform the gt440/630 in a number of areas due to a better memory bus (256bit vs 192bit for the gt440/630).

On the other hand the 630 has a newer architecture, lower power requirements, supports dx11 and will do AA faster. Though to get good framerates you will prbably need to turn off AA/DX11.

the Radeon 4850 is around the same price and will be better than either of these cards.

The GT630 is slower for a lot of reasons and there are not all that many DX11 exclusive tittles to worry but you are going to have to settle with at least something that is on par with a gts450 to see any real performance boost. Nvidia in the low end hasn't done very well for three product generations in a row since the 9600 and 9800gt were discontinued.
