Which processor should i get?

Hi, im deciding on building a computer, but dont know if i should get the intel i5 3570 or the AMD Vishera 8320. im not really a gamer, but i mainly use my computer for regular everyday use. I usually have a lot of applications open, im not sure if that has to do with anything, but i have a lot of things open at once. What about if I'm trying to stay at a 500 dollar build? Which of the 2 processors should I pick? Is there a big speed difference between the 2 processors? Any help would be appreciated!

Two comparisons, so you can decide which is best. Go with a cheaper board if funds are tight; you can't overclock the 3470, and the 8320 doesn't need it. You can go with an H77 or low end z77 board with Intel, but you may want a newer chipset for the 8320 to prevent posting problems.
