Radeon 5770 hdmi problems

Hello,
I'm struggling here and I'm sure there is a simple answer but I just can't work it out, when I play games through hdmi to my 32 inch lcd I always get errors on startup but when I use a vga its all fine my graphics card is a radeon 5770 and my os is xp

What kind of errors? Be more specific please.
