I was given an old TV from one of my siblings for use at college this year. Its a nice TV, only problem is it is old enough to lack VGA or HDMI inputs.
I found cables that had one end VGA and the other end YPbPr (I think that's also called component, not sure entirely), but I read that only certain video cards support outputting a YPbPr signal directly from the VGA port without requiring a converter box (from what I read it was the rough equivalent of a digital vs analog signal?).
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if my laptop was capable of doing so?
Or if it isn't capable is there some form of software I could use to force it to output the correct signal (thus saving the hassle and $$$ of a converter box)?
I own a Lenovo y570 laptop with both Intel HD 3000 and nVidia GeForce 555m graphics cards set up with optimus.
