System Freezing(Locking Up)

Hi there, my system is freezing usually when I play games most games eg: Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3... Its a real pain because im just playing the game and then my system will freeze and i can't do anything apart from use the reset button. Sometimes when i get back into Windows, Windows says that it's recovered from a BSOD. Im not sure if it's a CPU or GPU problem or something else. I have Crossfire 5750s if that makes a differene. Also i have tried games without Crossfire some games work some don't.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9505 @ 2.83Ghz
4gb Corsair RAM DDR 2
Two Asus 5750 Crossfire
Windows 7 Pro

Well my friend had this build then sold it to me he had it for about maybe 2 years and i got it about half way through this year.
