Hi all, I'm new to the site and also new to DIY pc's.
I was looking into building a budget gaming pc myself and had a snoop around at what parts are needed and such. The pc would be used just for gaming and surfing the web.
Basically i ended up with this as my to buy list.

CPU - Intel i5-3330
http://ark.intel.com/products/65509/Intel-Core-i5-3330-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_20-GHz
Have found this at around £130

Motherboard - Intel DH67BL
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/motherboards/desktop-motherboards/desktop-board-dh67bl.html
Priced at around £75

RAM - Corsair Vengeance 16GB Kit
http://www.corsair.com/vengeance-16gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmz16gx3m4a1600c9.html
Priced at around £60

GPU - Radeon HD 7750
http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/7000/7750/Pages/radeon-7750.aspx
Priced at £80

Hard-drive - WD Blue 1 TB SATA-600
http://wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=770
Priced at no more than £60

I am missing a Case, PSU and Optical drive and that is really why I'm here. :D
I need help in finding suitable parts that i haven't found and also to make sure my selected parts will in fact work alongside each other :na:

I won't need a monitor as I recently bought a Samsung Smart TV so the pc will be hooked up to that. Any advice on stuff like keyboard and mouse would also be great.

So thanks guys and any help would be massively appreciated.

Tom.

The i5-3450 or 3470 are better processors, for very little extra cost.
Not that motherboard. That's two generations back, designed for Sandybridge processors. It will work, but H77 mobo much better, with Ivybridge.
Do you NEED 16GB of ram. 8GB is more than enough for gaming, and most others things. The only common use for more than 8, is fairly high-end photo/video work.

For power supply, you only really need around 400w, so 430w offerings, from Corsair, or Antec, would be good. If you want 500w, for a good bit "in hand", then Corsair, or the PC Power&Cooling Silencer Mklll is quite good, as it's modular.
As for case, that's a very personal decision. Assuming it's not going to be in a hot environment, almost any Mid-Tower ATX case will do. Obviously the more you pay, the better the quality, you tend to get. The best way, is for you to pick a couple YOU like, and we can advise if one is better than another.
For optical drive, pick any, from Lite-On, LG, or Asus, and you should be fine. No need to spend more than, say, $20, unless you want blu-ray.

Thanks for the reply Malbluff. :)
I'll look into the other cpu, motherboards and such now.
Isnt modular where there is seperate cables for each component, meaning only the cables i'd need would be in the case? or is that non-modular i may have them confused :na:
and i guess your right about the ram, will this setup with 8gb of ram allow me to play on the better side of the graphics setttings on games like skyrim?

I'll also have a scout for some cases now and come back with 3/4

You got it right way round. Modular is where you put spare cables, in a drawer somewhere, rather than stuffed in a corner of the case.
8Gb is more than enough RAM (you could get away with 4). You only need more than 8 for software like Adobe CS6, or some Autocad stuff.

Yes, that's fine.

Avoid cases with built in power supplies, they're usually c**p.
If you are not too worried about "look", and want decent quality, check out Corsair Carbide 300R , or Antec 300. Both very good. CoolerMaster Elite is a cheap range, but not too bad quality. (They mostly only have single fan, but you can add, if required)

would there be a great difference if i replaced the graphics card with this?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005J3EPCC/ref=asc_df_B005J3EPCC10097442?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&tag=hydra0b-21&linkCode=asn&creative=22206&creativeASIN=B005J3EPCC&hvpos=1o2&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1528724806742453068&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=

would there be a huge difference in performance?
:D

ahhh i'll stick to the other then..
noob question, but i'll get all the necessary cables with the psu? also the cables for the hdd, will they come with hdd or do they need to be bought separately?

If you are buying conventional components, of reputable brand, it's usually a case of where do you store everything that's left over. Hence the advantage of modular power supplies.

Yes, that's fine for your system. Only slight thought would be, if you got that in 500w, you would have more scope, if you were to want a more powerful GPU, at some stage. Don't spend much more, on bigger PSU, though, unless that is likely.

I'll go with the 430 as hopefully i won't need to upgrade anytime soon. All the system really is going to be used for is Minecraft and the Elder Scrolls games. Thanks for the help. I'll post pics when its built. Ordering parts tomorrow. Any good sites you can recommend?

Just as a passing thought, as I'd really only be using it for minecraft and elder scrolls, would I be able to swap the i5 for this:
http://ark.intel.com/products/65693/Intel-Core-i3-3220-Processor-(3M-Cache-3_30-GHz)
it would take a lot of the price, but I'd only want to swap it out if my system could still perform well?

You could drop to i3-3220. The effect on performance, in most games, would be very small, at the moment. It would probably begin to lag behind, in future games, sooner, than with an i5. You would lose a little, perhaps, in non-gaming stuff, if, say, you were interested in photgraphy, but it's nothing major.

I don't really have interest in Photography or any Video editing stuff. I may just drop the i5 and go for the i3 then.
Also i saw on another forum that the 6770 HD GPU is better than the 7750 HD one? would you agree? they said the only plus to the 7750 is less power consumption?
