I'm planning my first build, and I'm just wanting to check what people think of my planned set-up. I will be using my PC for gaming along with video recording and editing. It will also be used for college work and music playing. I do not plan to over-clock at this moment in time (or even at all).

CPU: Intel Core i7 3770
Mother board: Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe
RAM: GeIL Black Dragon 1600Mhz 2x4GB
Graphics Card: ASUS GTX 660 Ti DirectCU OC
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
SSD: Corsair Force Series 3 V2 240GB
Power Supply: OCZ ZS 650W
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Case: Coolermaster Storm Trooper
Optical Drive: Sony AD-5280S-0B
Card Reader: Akasa 3.5" internal multi-card reader

Please could you give any feedback or suggestions below.
Thank you in advance.

If you are going to be rendering you should really get 16gb of ram. It will help with rendering times. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231429&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Your mobo is a little overkill. you could get this version if the mobo instead and spend the money on a better graphics card.

Get windows 7 pro if you decide to get more ram. home premium has a ram limit of 16gb so if you plan to upgrade in the future professional will do fine.

Do NOT ger a ozc power supply. although it is tempting because of their price they are very unrealiable. you should get a corsair http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139031&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Here is you build with changes http://pcpartpicker.com/p/kieT

Right, I'll get 16gb then.

Thanks, I'll do that then, would you say a better graphics card is necessary?

I think Home Professional will do me, but if I have enough I'll get Pro.

Ok, I'll a corsair instead.

Thanks for your help.

I should have edited my last reply. A better graphics card is not necessary, but if you really wanted to splurge on your gpu get a gtx 670. However, the gtx 660 will do great for your build. :)

If you have any more questions feel free to ask

if you are concerned about your temps you could always get a Hyper 212 Evo. IMO I don't think you will really need it, but it is always an option in the future
