BF2 Demo - Vauw!

Just tried the demo. First impression: Vauw, well done DICE.

I have an Athlon XP 2800 with a NVidia 5900XT. The demo ran really well
with default settings. Undoubtedly it could look even better with a
newer graphics card, but it was actually very impressive. Great
graphics, huge view distances, well done sounds. I am really impressed
(so far), it seems to me a lot of time has been used on polishing this
game, before it was let out.

i maxed everything out and it is awesome. the only real drawback i have
with it so far is, the Michael Jordan 55" vertical jumps you can do with
your character, otherwise, i find it to be a very playable game. the one
thing to counter this is, the buildings are built with this giant-
leaping in mind, so you can't really exploit it right now (maybe
later?). the type of "jumping around" that folks use to do on say
Berlin, to keep someone from shooting them, really doesn't work... at
least the same technique doesn't... i am sure folks will learn a
different technique as time goes by.

as for the commander mode, it's pretty sweet *if* your team defends your
artillery and radar, if they don't, it becomes rather useless. squad
leaders are pretty cool, if you have a squad that will actually work
with you.. i so far have a favorable impression of it.
