Will my gpu card produce sound?

This may be a really dumb question:
I have an XFX Double D HD-695X-CDFC Radeon HD 6950 2GB card in my new PC. I'm going to record and save MPEG2 videos via my Haupage TV tuner card. I would like to run an HDMI cable from my GPU in my PC and connect to my TV in living room and watch these videos on the TV. Will I get sound as well as video? If so, can I also use a DVI to HDMI adapter between the GPU and the HDMI cable and still get sound? Thanks ahead of time, Chris.

Yep, you will pass audio via the HDMI connector to the HDTV. Using the DVI port on the GPU will not pass audio. Of course, you also have the option to use your sound card jack to the HDTV as well.
