What are the new sockets?

Would it be wise to get a 1155 socket for future upgrading or 2011 because i thought 1155 was a dead socket now and 2011 is the one that they will be bringing out future processors for can someone fill me in?

  1. Intels next gen. will be on a new socket that you cannot buy at the moment AM3+ is the only socket future CPUs will use

So any new intel cpu's will be release on a socket not yet available? thanks :P
  3. Intel is expected to officially announce Haswell in June. At that time both CPUs and socket 1150 motherboards should be available.
  4. Thats what it is 1150 I couldn't remember yes Intels next gen will be on 1150 and since you can't use the CPU without the boards or the boards without the CPUs they will be released at the same time. Its to early to tell but performance on the CPU part is not expected to be a huge improvement so if you want an Intel cpu theres not much point waiting.
