The 2nd system uses a 3570k with an H61 board and has a significantly weaker GPU. Total FAIL. Why even make this comparison?

Edit: Oh, and a liquid CPU cooler for a CPU in a motherboard that won't overclock, so double fail. Build the first system.

first one but if i may suggest trying to get a normal 5000 rpm? other than the 7200 if its cheaper just because 7200 doesnt make a big difference but sometimes the prices between them is outrageous

I'm not sure about that. I notice some major hiccups using my 5200(?) rpm data drive for games like TF2, which I don't play very much anyways, but it takes a good 5 minutes before the hiccups disappear.

are you sure cause im playing on a 5200rpm drive that is in the process of failing, tf2 runs fine even the load times arent bad as long as my hdd is having a good day

I'm not sure what else it could be. I made a junction and threw tf2 files on my ssd and it was much, much smoother, so I was pinning the problem onto the 5200rpm hdd. I'm not exactly sure, but I still think since the junction is on the 5200rpm that it still has to spin up to tell windows the file is actually on the ssd...? Don't really know how the junction/simlink stuff works.

i think the difference from 5200-7200 rpm drives is like barely noticable transfer rate and boot time and load time. but most these things can be bottlenecked by cpu and such so really it doesnt matter unless you have a huge drive (2tb i think) this will load faster but a HDD shouldnt make the game run worse just load slower your fps will not be changed my cousin has 2 or 3 PATA drives, the old ribbon cable ones that he has everything on and i know they arent more than 5400 rpm and his games run just fine

also between the 2 boards i think the asrock one is nicer but the msi one is still fine

I think it only happens in TF2. I doubt its the cpu i5-3570k. It is a 2tb drive with about 1tb used. Maybe that's why.

its probably cause its a 2tb alone, the bigger it is the slower it will go and since its about half full it will go even slower, usually that doesnt come as a problem but since yours is so big. i would try and get 2-4 500gb if i were you or 2 1tb
